The Prairie Harvest Crew
Robby Wager
Chief of Staff
Robby is our steady hand and my right-hand man. A former Wild Idea sharpshooter with a Class A CDL, he handles producer relations, USDA approvals, herd audits, recruitment, and harvest scheduling. A husband and father of two, he ensures our buffalo a humane death and keeps crew spirits high.
Dallas Steen
Sharpshooter
Dallas carries the weight of the perfect shot, day after day. He holds a Class A CDL, hauling our mobile harvest unit to partner ranches. Otherwise he manages his family's cattle ranch across the Cheyenne River. A husband and father of one, soon two, he shoulders the pressure with grace.
Richard Merival
Harvest Technician
Rich has grown into a skilled skinner over nearly two years—in craft and character. He once struggled to keep a knife sharp; now the crew processes a buffalo in fifteen minutes flat. A young Lakota man, he takes pride in sacred work and elite standards of respect and sanitation.
Wanbli Zephier
Harvest Technician
Wanbli is quiet, good-humored, and relentless in the best way. Nearly two years in, he's a pace-setter inside the box—the one who lifts everyone across the finish line. A young Lakota man, he finds peace on the prairie beside his relatives, the buffalo. He cooks at Rapid City's Firehouse.
Tayamni “Ta” Long
Butcher
Ta has been with the crew nearly three years and become a world-class butcher. He's also a rider in Indian horse relay—three laps bareback, switching horses mid-stride—and a talented boxer. Tenacious, steady, and always giving 100 percent, he brings that same fire into the box every day.
Grant Johnson
Harvest Technician
Grant is our newest crew member, a South Dakota native from Custer, now Rapid City. He brings agronomy, carpentry, and brewing experience from Lost Cabin, plus talent as a guitarist and composer with a taste for heavy grunge. A greenhorn who learns fast, he fits like he's been here years.
