What is the Humane Prairie Harvest?
Our mission is to give buffalo Respect in Life, Dignity in Death. This means the buffalo in our herd are born on the prairie, roam free on the Great Plains grasslands, and take their last breath on the wild grass where their ancestors have roamed for thousands of years.
They never experience a feedlot, transport truck, or slaughterhouse. We harvest them one at a time, in an instant, without stress or fear. An animal at peace in its last moment means no cortisol is released into their system.
