A little over a year ago, Guy Fieri’s All American Road Trip, featuring guest-celebrity-chef, Antonia Lofaso visited Wild Idea’s - Cheyenne River Buffalo Ranch. We were approached months earlier, but the final commitment of them making a stop at the ranch didn’t happen until two weeks prior to their arrival. It also happened to be my birthday.
Each June, I typically throw a big party, and last year the date fell on my birthday. Because I was turning 60 (yikes!) I decided to go with a 60’s theme party. We hadn't yet received a confirmation from the Food Network team, so I proceeded ahead with my party plans. And then... two weeks out, they confirmed. With a little extra preparation, I was pretty sure we could pull it off. And, we did!
Antonia Lofaso, along with her family and a dozen staff members (who were all delightful) were first given an informative tour of the ranch with time in the bison herd. After the tour, my family delivered her family and crew to my studio, where I had a spread of food for them to try.
It is always exciting to be recognized as a leader in Regenerative Agriculture/Ranching, and we were honored to have them visit and opportunity to share our story. The above video is just a short clip, but the full episode was just released a couple of weeks ago. We are featured in season 3, episode 3.
