'Tis the season for giving! This year with your help, we were able to deliver a check for $622.86 and a $311.43 box of nutritious buffalo meat to “The Club For Boys” on Giving Tuesday. These gifts may not seem like a lot, but for a small specialty food company (food companies are typically among the lowest gross margin businesses), it’s a big deal. But, not as big as the smiles and thanks that we received from the recipients!
The Club For Boys (not to be confused with the Boys Club) is a local organization in our community that assists over 1,300 boys a year! In addition to educational and extra curricular programs offered, they provide; school supplies, clothing, food, scholarships, and many other critical needs for children.
This past Black Friday -which also happens to be Native American Heritage Day, our deal was to GIVE 15% of our sales in cash and bison meat on Giving Tuesday to an organization in need of assistance. We selected The Club For Boys as the recipient because of its ethnic diversity, which includes a 47% Native American enrollment. If we are going to change the racial divide that exists in our community/country, the best places to support are those that influence our children.
We want to thank all of our customers for your support, which helped make this possible. Together, one bite at a time, we can make a difference in our physical, social and cultural environment and feel great doing it!
Fa la -la-la-la, la-la-la-la!
